This was taken this past week at The lighthouse in Sanibel. the ospreys were quite active and I am posting this one as it is the first image that I have taken that captured the osprey straight on.

What a grand image, Judy. You captured the majesty and power of these beauties with the perfect pose. Love the strong vertical composition. I even like the damaged primary...that hint of imperfection adds reality to the image.

You certainly nailed this one Judy. Brilliant wingspread captured in this, and very well exposed on the underwing. Congrats.

Although I would prefer a "perfect" wing, I agree with Grace's comments. Very nice composition...was this cropped from horizontal, or originally a vertical?

Hi Daniel thanks for your comments as always. This was cropped from a horizontal. When hand holding the 300 mm 2.8 I find it a bit heavy when using it vertically. Need a few more muscles I guess !!!!

Very nice Judy. Well captured and presented.

Still waiting for the ospreys return for the season here but warming so it will not be long.

Lovely capture Judy. This image really displays the long legs and long wings of this species well.

Nice work Judy! The vertical format really shows the wing span nicely.

Another wonderful image and captured superbly Judy, great shot and no nits, imperfect wing or not. And that my friend is what i'm talking about, everything in this image is dead on but they found that slight flaw in the wing, so either don't shoot it or wait until he grows the feather back and redo it, thank you for sharing this beautiful photograph.
