I had a great opportunity to rent a vacation house for a few days in Napa CA whose grounds were plentiful with photogenic hummingbirds. Although I got a number of 'conventional' shots, this one was one of my favorites, and I thought it would fit in the 'out of the box' forum due to its unusual composition.

The aspects that I liked best were the color/lighting of the body, as well as the sharpness compared to the motion in the wings. And my favorite detail is the little toes! I feel as though I could have used a little more DOF though.

Shot in AV mode @ 1/2500s, f/4.5, ISO 400, 0ev

It is a cool image and out of the box for certain Don't recall seeing one like it !!!! The bold colors sure complement the image !!! Might consider taking a little of the bottom? Neat !!!
