“The Passage Of Time”

This Victorian lady was painted with a Nikon D2x, using a Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 IF-ED macro lens with a Nikkor 12mm extension tube.

focal length @ 105mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 1/125sec. - f/32 / exposure comp @ -2.7EV / ISO @ 200 / white balance @ cloudy / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution - Nikon R1C1 wireless close up speedlight system; both light units set to ¼ lumen burst with a wide dispersal pattern and attached diffuser. / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +2 degrees / support platform - tripod assist, with macro focusing rail, and manual cable trigger release /

Elegant. I don't know what else to say here. Love the black background against the red, white to yellow green of the flower. And the comp to the left side is a nice choice. The fade out on the edges is a great addition.

Sweet composition, and I love the fade to background. The texture really comes through - great study of simplicity.

Wonderful texture and I also like the fade to background. The image has a sense of mystery surrounding it. Was the fade a result of the lighting or post-processing?

Gus, love the lighting here. And the way the edge of the petals fade into the BG. Might only wish to see it in 2x3 format with more negative space on the right.

Jules, I believe this is the backside of a hydrangea petal.
