I stole this idea a bit from Tim Kuhn's first post this morning in _Avian, Wild and Free Birds_
It is also a practice file for using Quick Mask to remove offending objects, in this case two other cranes...
As was expected, the birds were taking off and landing into the north wind, near the Farm Deck at Bosque Del Apache this morning and I saw these two getting ready to go. I tripped the shutter as they both took their first steps of the take off run.
Canon 20D
1/2000th
Sigma 50 - 500 - 363mm @ f/ 5.6
ISO 400
Monopod
ACR for WB, PS for cropping, slight curves & color correction and quick masking out the two birds.
