Great Shot Michael! I love the lighting and how it captures the iridescent feathers on the head and sides. I don't mind the HA, but I might be tempted to remove the left twig and recrop accordingly.

Well done!

Pretty sweet. I like the thin branch with this subject, and the sprinkling of lichen on it does spruce it up. I'm torn on the second branch, but the image would not suffer without it there - I'd eliminate it. I wish the gorget was better lit, but you captured the iridescence nicely on the head and body. Overall very well done!

Ditto Daniel on all counts. Is this the "pissed off" posture? (I am not torn as to the front branch...) If the bird kept landing there, I would have walked up and snapped it off.

Nice warm light, and very sharp. I would definitely take out the extra stick. A head turn towards you would show off the gorget better, but oh well...

How was Morro Bay?
