Hi everyone, here's a Western Sandpiper from a few years back on the Washington coast. This is a fairly large crop, so I lost a bit of detail. I didn't have anymore room on the bottom or the right.

20D 500F4 1/3200 F6.3, manual exposure, iso 400, Handheld, A1 Servo

Hello,

Bird looks rather soft IMO. However, you did well with the exposure.

I like the wing position and BG and would remove the sheen from the bill.

Nate:

Excellent dorsal view while maintaining good head angle. I love the pattern of feathers, very striking. I agree with Axel about knocking down the bill sheen a bit.
You can tell the effect of the large crop, but I still like it. It wouldn't take much added canvas at all to do the job, IMHO.

Thanks for posting!

Hey Nate, This is pretty cool. IQ definitely suffered from the big crop. The strange thing is that the back looks pretty good and looks pretty sharp. Not so the face. A QM or two (APTATS) would easily fill in added canvas front (which it needs big time).

I will answer your e-mail assuimng that I can find it. If you do not hear from me by MON, please re-send. Thanks bud.
