Hi Harold, I like this image. I like the direct look this bird is giving us. The eyes are killer. The vertical presentation work well in this picture. Some might like a greater DOF but I like what you have done. This really keeps the focus on those eye. Nice background in pleasing light. Well done.

Agree with Phil, the shollow DOF really emphasizes the eyes, which are really cool looking. Great light and BG

Nice capture, Harold. Agree with the DOF issue, but love the sharp, intense eyes and the nice bkrg isolation..

Cheers,

Rock on Harold!
This is the way to use selective, shallow focus.
The eyes have it.
+2 on the flash? Pop Up or SB- ?

As was said by all - the eyes are super. DOF is fine by me.

Harold, this one rocks, as James said. Those eyes and the narrow dof are awesome. Great forward thinking here. Frame it!

DOF at its best. Superb detail captured over the head, and pin, pin sharp. Great image Harold.

Hi Harold: This picture really stands out for me. There is a softness/gentleness about it which I find extremely appealing. You have wonderful detail and good use of fill flash. I think this picture tells a story, and I am always partial to that type of image.
