The Great Blue White Morph showed up at Anhinga Trail after a two year absence, He was really close to me and all I had was the 500mm with a 1.5 crop camera. What to do? I got some head portraits, but really wanted an image of those whitish legs. As I was making it, I figures, why not try a stitched pano since the bird was so still!
PS Photo merge did a great job with the lower three, I had to add the head manually. It ended to be 11k pixels on the tall side. I did it in the vertical format, next time I'll do it horizontal to get more width.

Pretty cool idea and composition. Maybe a bit more contrast?

wow! I really like what you've done here! I occasionally stitch together parts of various photos, but never one this big (or of a subject like this!) Very cool work, and a great example of some quick thinking!

Great Shot. Now that's the difference experience makes! Because I probably would have started backing up, scaring the bird away in the process.

These Great White Heron's are so beautiful and I always enjoy seeing them up close. What a beauty! Nice thinking to create a super-large bird panorama that you could easily print at life-size or even bigger. :)

You already said it about the room, but I think the idea to get a full body image when it seems impossible is great and the PP work is simply stunning, big congratulaitons Fabs!
