Not always an easy subject to get close to...at least not up here!! The all-black bill is having me thinking this is maybe a first year male? If this is not already cropped I would examine the possibility of doing so for the sole purpose of getting the subject a bit larger in the frame (but keeping the same basic comp).

Daniel, Not easy to get close to here either-the ice forced them closer but this was already cropped-I took a bit more off- also I assumed this was a female since she/it was with a single male-Are there any other markings that would make it easy to tell?
