Male Anhinga On the Move!! - S.W Florida

Regardless of their fairly big body sizes, Anhinga is often a great challenge to photograph in flight. This male was on the move bringing nesting material back home!

Hope you like it.

Canon 40D, 500mm L @ f/5.6, 1/1000 sec, ISO 400, RAW, Manual Exposure, Almost Full Frame.

I find the image to be quite interesting from a behavioral aspect. I would like to see more of the bird in sharper focus and perhaps a little better eye contact. That said I do realize that these can awfully hard to capture well. Nice job!

Sharper? Looks prety sharp in my calibrated monitor. Are you referring to the blur? if that's the case blurs are more interesting to me than rock frozen images. I try to capture blurs are much as I can..

and perhaps a little better eye contact

I'll give you that! :D.

Thanks!

The Anhinga is separated from the water BG nicely Maxis, and his nesting material a bonus. Always great to see motion blur. Great capture.

Nice shot, like the wing action, is that a twig at the top of his eye?

Love it, grrat pose although I do wish for a slightly better head angle, still, great wing and body pose, lovely BG, colors, light, exposure and detail! Congratulations Maxis!
