Beautiful colors and lighting Aidan. I do think it would have been stronger if the front edge had a little more DOF to it instead of the center area as it would have helped to pull the viewer's eye up and into the image more. I would also suggest considering cloning out the little bit of blue at the lower right corner (LRC) just because it breaks the eye in that one place.

Keep the poppy images coming...I love to see them!

Hi Aidan,
I like the composition and the yellow hues...suggestion for your next macro capture...use a tripod and stop down to f/16, f/22, or even f/32...and use aperture priority so you can control the depth of field zone...I agree with Julie's suggestions...
