Taken at the Norfolk, VA, Botanical Gardens. Overcast late afternoon sky.

Minimal cropping in PSE7, enhanced saturation, contrast, and fill light.

Olympus SP-570UZ, 9.77mm zoom, super macro setting; ISO 64, f/3.5, 1/60sec.

Thanks for looking, and comments most appreciated as always.

My first thought was: fireworks! I wish more of the flowers were in focus, and the BG more out of focus, but i don't know how you could have done that.

Hey Massimo, very cool looking subject. I think the BG is cluttered, but you list your f/stop at 3.5 so I don't know what else you could do to change it other then change your position, or find a subject where the BG is father away.

Hi Massimo,
I like the subject, the background needs to be diffused or blurred a bit more, because it is taking away and competing with the flower...I would suggest toning down the flower, it's running a bit on the warm side...looking forward to more...:)

I'm with Anita on this one, mossimo. It is cool as an abstrast if you funked it up a little more but the BG is competing with that main flower too much and the main flower feels a bit on the "hot" side so my eye runs to the BG.
