Juvenile Australasian Grebe at the local sewage ponds.

Canon 40D EF500 f/4 + 1.4 tc, tripod flat on the ground, evaluative, Av, ISO 200, f/11, 1/400, tilt corrected and resultant slivers cloned to blue.

Well done, Simon. Lovely low angle, light, reflection and head angle. The soft feather textures and water droplets are superb. Looks like two little dust bunnies just behind the plume extending form the tail, one LLC and one in front of the bill reflection. I often find these images work well with a very subtle corner burn - not enough to be obvious but if viewed back to back with an unburnt version the burn makes the bird pop.

Beautiful image! I really like this Simon, the absolute flat water is a luscious shade of blue setting the bird off nicely. Nice sharp focus on the whole bird, very nice light, what's not to like? If it was mine I would crop just a bit more off of the bottom but that is a personal preference.

Well done Simon.
I like the odd feather at the back of the bird which would look out of place if it wasn't for the nice reflection
