Our Christmas cactus is beginning to bloom for the Spring. This image was taken indoors with window light coming from behind.

Camera Info:

Olympus E-3; Vivitar Series 1 90-180mm Flat Field Zoom with Olympus adapter; 1/5 sec at f11; ISO 100; tripod and cable release

I totally agree. It's so beautiful I can hardly stop looking at it. Love that the BG is the same tones of the pink family as the flower...was that natural or did you doctor it in pp? Either way I love it. The exposure if perfect and the DOF is right where it needs to be. You got a real keeper here, Richard!

Jules -- the background is an extremely out of focus vertical blind in front of the patio door. There wasn't any doctoring except for a bit of burning-in on the right side.

Like the BG colors, amazing that it complements the cactus bloom so well considering it is just a blind behind
the flower. The depth of focus is great.

I agree with all the comments above. I especially like the BG color that picks up the color of the flower. The choice to use backlighting was excellent. Lovely!!!
