I've posted a version of this much earlier; http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4886.....where I used a much stronger & warmer flashlight. This was done the night before with just a headlamp to illuminate. I've also gotten better in PP'ing with tricks I have learned here......so I am re-visiting some of my eralier posts to see how much I will improve them. I've re-done the post above.....and you can also see the difference in the e-zine article I did on night photography.
Canon 1D Mark lll with the 17-40mm lens at 17mm for 25 sec. at f4.5 and ISO 6400....all mounted on tripod w/ball head....bubble level and painted with headlamp for entire exposure.
PS....here's the link to re-work of the 1st post; http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=18902
