Canon 40D
100-400 mm
ISO 250
1/100 sec. at f/5.6
HH

Taken at Long Key
I took several shots trying to create an in-flight blur, I set my shutter speed lower for some and my ISO lower for some-This seemed to be the combo that worked best for this image. I have narrowed it down to two views of this image and would like your opinion as to which looks better-I have added some PP tweaks to both-

Or this one?(this one has more motion blur)
Or -should it have more blur?

Hi Denise I like the first one better and these are just personal choice !!!

I like the bg, bird placement and overall feel !! Do wish to have a different wing position just as in a sharp bird image and some sharpness in the head eye area seems to help !!! Love them images !!!

Prefer the first image because the eye seems better defined. Love the sense of motion!

Hi Denise - another vote for the first - think if you are going to have a unsharp head/ eye it has to be more artistically blurred - for lack of a better descriotion - for instance see the first image on Arties Blog.

Thanks guys- It seems it's harder to get a blur that looks good than it is to get one in focus!
