Hi Guys,

Here's one from the "old files" as i haven't been able to get out at all lately due to work obligations and the weather has not been very cooperative...
Hoping these beauties will return soon...

I know limited DOF does not often work with macro, but breaking the rules sometimes is just such fun!

Greetings,

Jeroen Stel

I like it a lot Jeroen, The positioning with the face straight on is great and the perch is a big part of the sucess of the image.
I am not a big fan of F32 macro images. I just line up with the eyes and shoot away usually at F8 or so. I am not a part of the everything has to be in focus Macro crowd so for me the image is perfectly acceptable.

My only criticism is the light is a little harsh on the D-Fly, the flowers are okay.

Would have been great to have an assistant or anyone hold up a diffuser.

Thanks for sharing.

Robert

An unusual perspective Jeroen with shallow DOF but legs, head and thorax sharp as, works OK for me.

the selective & narrow DOF works well here. it infact brings back the viewer's attention to the D-fly eyes & the flower.
lovely bokeh.
