Great angle, exposure control, details and wing flap. If anything, it would have been great to see a bit more of the far wing.

I vote for good! Exposure, sharpness, pose, and eye contact are excellent. Agree with Axel about the far wing, but I'd love to have this image in my collection!

Well done, and a difficult exposure handled well. Good for me too.

Denise:

Very nice exposure on a difficult to expose bird. Nice head angle. I usually see them flapping in deeper water, so it is fun to see one standing and flapping.

As a very minor point, I might clone out several of the larger clumps of mud in front of the bird. The ones behind don't bother me nearly as much. Our eye is really drawn forward in this image, so those lumps are distracting, at least to me.

Thanks a lot.

I think you did an excellent job here, Denise. So often it seems to come down to the whites OR the blacks. You got them both spot on. Very nice!

Love the underwing detail, the head angle, and the perfect EXP and SH. The gooey black stuff is distracting. Overall: very good.
