They also stink... from Anhinga Trail
1/500", f5.6, ISO 500, 400mm, hand held

Lots of black vulture around, the light was really nice, so I decided to take an intimate portrait.

Lovely light and BG. Well caught with the open bill. I would darken down the white speck on the feathers LLC and maybe a tad more sharpening. Well done.

THE most wonderfull portrait I have seen so far of this species, lovely BG, stunning golden light, terrific exposure and detail and the open bill is just a huge plus as the atitude is very powerfull, terrific IMO. Congratulations!

Stunning portrait Raul and I love the action in this one . Excellent detail and a killer BG and lighting.

Agree with the sharpening comments and I think you could add some black to the blacks in Selective color. I think it's abit over-exposed. Great BG :)

Thanks all.
Repost with Tony & Fabs recommendation (white spot gone, added blacks, and some sharpening)

Love the repost, Raul. The open beak, sharpness, light, and background add up to a stunning image.

The original is good...the repost is killer!! Love the details and textures on the face. I'm not sure about the open gap in ULC - perhaps cropping slightly until the top of bird closes that gap in the corner would strenghten the comp. Very subtle, I know, but could be effective.
