one from my hooptie trip. i'm just getting around to some of these things that were taken last year!!!

D300, Bigma at 500mm, f/11, 1/500s, 0EV, ISO 500.

i did remove two palm tree trunks in the bg that seemed to overpower the scene.

thanks for looking. comments and critiques appreciated..

This is simply superb Doctor...I like the soft natural brush strokes of the vegetation in the background, with just the right amount of blurr...the color tones and hues really set off your gull, making him stand out like the main actor in a play...:) your color rendition on the gull is dead on with sharp details, good head angle and sharp eye contact...and to put the icing on the cake, you have an ultra low capture angle...congrats on a job well done Doctor...my hat of to you...:cool:

Low angle and bg does it for me !!! Making a sweet image out of a common bird !! Love it Harold !!!

Mr H - love that low angle makes all the difference -- BG is fantastic. Exposure looks good - Congrats a inner IMHO :)

Very simple and effective Harold. Love the BG and placement in the frame. Wondering if a little lightening of the beak would make it look even better:)
