Not nuch to shoot up here until spring. I buy butterfly mounts online and use them for my workshops. Here's one I set up on some burned logs from a campfire left by some boy scout at a local park.

Mike, I love the texture and color hues of the burnt wood. The butterfly has complimentary colors and is well placed in the frame.I also like the diagonal pattern to the wood.

Hey Mike...You have the eye....Wonderful contrast of color, shape and tonality. Might have given a bit more room at the bottom of the butterfly. All in all very well done with alot of interest....

Hey Dave, I think your right a tad more on the bottom wouldn't hurt.

Excellent composition and execution, Mike. I think the main issue with the closeness to the bottom comes from the black edging on the wing and that one section of very dark black wood. It is very difficult to see where the wing ends and the wood begins.

Ed's right...I think that's why I got tripped up down there, too.

Wow...that background is amazing. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open at campsites this year.

And the blue tones in this...superb!
