All the hootin' and hollerin' about the Hooptie Deux and that James Shadle ain't no empty chatter. My trip Saturday with James and Blake was a ball. I liked this picture because of the "spikey" look on the dark red shoulders. Comments and critique appreciated.

I like the eye contact and the action captured. Exposure and sharpness look good. I might move the bird a little lower in the frame, and I might also remove the horizontal line in the water near the top of the bird.

Philip:
I agree with Doug about cropping a bit off the bottom. The whites look a bit hot on my uncalibrated monitor, I would be curious how it look with just a bit of exposure compensation to darken it just a touch.
I agree, the spikey wings are fun.

Cool pose, action, angle and details. Adding to Doug's suggestions, it could go a bit darker for my taste.

I opened the image in CS3 and the light pinks were over-exposed. The whites were not. I de-STA-ed all 15 points. Levels showed all well. Then I did a linear burn on the whites and pinks. I think that it is an improvement but would start over and convert a bit darker.

It looks as if it is smiling at you. I like the bill, the stripes at the top to be exact, the smile, the eye and the bubbling water. It is doing a tap dance under water.
