This bird was a huge target for me on this trip. Not only is it one of the most beautiful hummingbirds (IMO) - but it is also endemic to Ecuador. This species lives at a higher elevation than any other species of hummingbird - up to about 4500m (and that's right about the elevation I found him at). What a beauty!

Glen, another trophy. Beautifull composition and colors, the background completes the scene well. Congratulations. From my monitor, as Fabs mentions, I would use a little S&H to reveal the blue in the neck.

Glenn, great image of what indeed must have been a difficult target. I don't know about that hummingbird background though -- looks kind of artificial :-)

Congrats,
Greg

Glenn, you've got a winner here IMHO. The colors setting and bkgnd. are perfect.
