Hi! This is my first post here. It is still quite cold and windy here in Québec.

Welcome to BPN! Very nice first post. I like the pose, soft light and the needles in the BG balance the image nicely. I would sharpen the bird some more as it looks soft as presented. I would run noise reduction on the background. Please post the complete techs. Keep them coming!

Hi,
Welcome to the forums! Axel gave you some excellent advice on a few PP (post processing) tweaks. I may also try to lighten the face a bit more. I too like the inclusion of just a hint of the BG....but may blur the one above/behind the head a touch more....just to soften it a bit. Overall you composed this very nicely.

Hi,
Welcome to BPN! Sweet little bird. The background is sufficiently diffused. I looked at the exif details in your image. It reads, 1/1600, f8, ISO 400, EV=-1, focal length 420mm. It will be better if you post the exif while uploading the image.

Were you handholding? Is it a cropped image? The image will be improved if you follow Axel's post processing suggestions. Look forward to see more of your work.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Ditto above. I would add that since these guys love coming to feeders and are not shy it would be easy to place a thinner perch near a feeder and get them to pose on that instead of a thick one as here. A matter of taste, I agree, but it would still look better aesthetically IMO as I find thick perches don't always look best with smaller songbirds. Perfect exposure, good use of EC.

P.S. Welcome to BPN...looking forward to more :-)

Welcome and congrats on your first post. Good advice above. I especially like the BG with the OOF needles. A touch more sharpening and it will jump out at you.

Welcome. Quite a lovely bird ad image needing oly a bit more detail in the blacks and some selective sharpeig of the bird.
