Well howdie folks:)
Hope everyone is doing well and shooting even better. Got up early Saturday morning and drove up to Talkeetna and shot this. It's made of 10 vertical images, stitched together in PS CS3 - a nearly 2 gig file! Yeah, it took a while. I think my computer added to global warming... there was smoke involved.
I also posted a Journal entry regarding the making of this image, from conception (pre-visualization) to post-production. It's a fun post, hope it is informative. It will give you an idea of what is to come from my site. Hope you'll check it out, and leave a comment on the Journal page. If you click on the photo (while on the Journal) it will take you to a larger version.

Take care everyone, and good shooting.

Hey Dave,
Been here myself a few times.....but never in winter......may have to re-think that. I'm not a huge fan of the protrusions of the tree tops into the mountain.....alsthough probably impossible to negate totally and you have to choose a spot. the alpenglow is sweet!!! ....and the compositional balance of the mountains......more than makes up for the minor protrusions into the base. Very nicely done! BTW Let me know how the 7 day weekend goes with your congressman.

Wow, love the light and the color combo. I agree the tree tops are a touch distracting but not an image killer. I also think the comp is nicely balanced. Beautiful scene.
