Canon 1D Mk2, Canon 17-40 , f/20@1/10, 0 EV, ISO 100, AV mode, tripod with rrs-55 head.

This angle was the one I wanted for the waves crashing over but will have to wait till next time.

Hey Roman were getting another foot of snow today, winters back with a vengeance.

I like it. Nice composition with several pleasing lines.

Two suggestions. First, there are halos around the edge of the building that might be removed. Most evident is along the side of light tower.

Second, the image has a magenta cast. Maybe correct that.

As an afterthought, if you felt really ambitious, you could take out the chain link fence and black metal
railing for a cleaner look.

Dennis,

David did a good job on some of the things I would have brought up.

You have three good leading lines to the structure - composed very well. I would suggest that you needed room at the top and not clipped the peak of the LH

what a beautiful lighthouse. A tilt shift would have been perfect here to give you more room on top.

Hey Curly,
I guess I have to make a trip up there for some Michigan lighthouses in the winter! We had flurries on the Pensy border(out doing waterfalls)....but rain here at my house and not 1 bit of the white stuff left. Tulips and daffodil buds are popping up.

Nice use of leading lines but will agree on the clipped tip(ouch). some very good PP tips given......but I'm not sure on the fence removal one......no matter how much I hate them......but that's a personal choice. I may remove the 1/2 post on the bottom with a crop....but besides the clipped tip......this was done very nicely compositionally.

You gave a good effort here Dennis. A few suggestions have been made already. Keep exploring the options and critiquing yourself. Keep them coming.

Thanks everybody for your help, suggestions and kind words.

Dave thanks for your hard work on my photo it really helps.

I sacrifice the tip for getting the leading lines in the photo and keeping the brush out. This photo I step back and got both lines and room on top of lighthouse with a few bushes. Thanks again for your help it is really appreciated.

I really like your perspective and the leading lines you've framed on this one Dennis... looks like you have plenty of other ideas to try on this one, which all make this strong image even better.
