A couple of weekends ago the was very low and I was able to get in some spots that I can't normally get. This is one from that weekend. Still working some of the others.

Love the stillness. Processing looks great and the comp is also very well done. I was gonna say maybe without the log/ or not merging with the reflection would help but trying to imagine it without doesn't seem better. I really like it as is. Well done.

I agree with Paul - what a beautiful image Judd. I do think I see a little noise or artifacts down at the bottom of the frame where the darker areas are - you might take another look at that and see if you can pull that out. The colors in this are super and I think you did a great job of capturing an incredible "feel" to the image.

Jules....Thanks for the great comments! I think the lil bit of noise your seeing is from sharping for the web....plus it didn't help that I uploaded it from imageshack. I'll see if I could fix that for later posting. As for as the original tiff that's been worked.....I've already printed this one and there was no noise present.

Excellent work capturing the light here. In cases like this, moving to get the log away from the reflection is an alternate composition you should explore. Always best to work the scene and have choices later.

However, the image you present here is exceptional. A very important consideration here is where you cut the truck with the horizon and just below the moss and above the log is a good choice. Nice work.

Hey Jude,
Can't add much......but I am a big fan of the log......but will agree that exploring other angles w/o the merge is always a good habit (Paul will have to tell you about my 40 compositions of a spider web)......but as everyone stated above.....just super all around on the colors/comp and mood!
PS Lucky hat??? I may have to get me one of those!

I like most the calm water, the fluid to transitioning color palettes and the soft light. It has a quit mood. Very well thought out. This looks like a place to keep hanging out. I can easily imagine this in a huge wall hanging.
