Hope you guys won't get sick of redpolls, they're mostly what I was concentrating on during Christmas break. Didn't get too many males, this shot was passable. Really wish the tail wasn't hidden by the perch, & he could have turned his head more my way. I'm sure you'll let me know if the cropping could be better...

Beautiful specimen, great details and pose. It would have been nice to see the entire tail but it doesn't bother me too much. And no, I'm not even close to get tired seeing images of this species since I'm a big fan of winter finches. :)

Good work Caroline! Nice crop, great sharpness, and a BG that compliments yet highlights the bird.

This is my first introduction to this species Caroline and I think it's exquisite!!
You have captured a lovely composition here with the Redpoll nicely posed on an interesting perch - Sharp where it counts and well exposed. Well done!!

Very beautiful image Caroline and well framed with an interesting perch and excellent detail in the redpoll. One could never get tired of these little beauties. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with all the positive comments above. I haven't seen this bird before either - they're pretty! Might that be a dust spot about a half inch out from the back of the bird's head?
