Canon EOS-1D Mark II N, Shooting Date/Time 2/13/2009 16:01:00, Shutter Speed 1/4000Sec. Av(Aperture Value) F2.8, Evaluative metering, Exposure Compensation -2/3, ISO 320, Lens: EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM. On Gitzo Tripod with Wimberley 2 Head.

Anhinga Trail, this one was sitting on the fence and very cooperative too. I choose 2.8 to get maximum background blur and just because it was different for me. I really like the pose here.

Very nice portrait Grady, it certainly emphasizes the eye which is striking, I probably would have gone for a little more depth of field to try and get the beak sharp as well.

Very nice portrain and nice detail in the bird. Could use just a little room on the right side.

I like how the f2.8 gives a very special feel to this image, it work for me very well. Congratualitons!

The 2.8 aperture doesn't work for me here...I guess you still would have had a very nice looking background at 5.6 or 8.0, the shallow DOF on the bird makes it a bit too busy for my taste.
