When the rain eventually arrives in the Kalahari ,it arrives with a vengeance .i wanted to try and capture this using a slow shutter speed ....

Peter,

Going with the slow shutter speed was a great idea. Love the fog in the middle ground. Four different layers from the FG grass, the the middle ground low bushes, to the fog and then the BG hill provide great depth to the image. It is that reason I feel the wildebeest walking into the depth works so well.

Different and effective. The muted colors make a nice setup of the subject. Good sens of movement from the raised leg.

Peter,
This is a good one. I like the rains captured. That gives a unique feel to the image. I love the texture. Good depth of field. I like it a lot.
Cheers,

I like the mood of this a lot, my only nit would be the lack of apparent detail in the face. But I would be the first to admit that there is not much easily discernable detail in the first place.

Very good emotional photograph! I love the sense of movement in this and that rain and the fact that it is walking away from the camera with that headturn make it very dramatic. Great thinking!

I like this a lot for the rain, muted colors and look back over the shoulder, great shot Peter
