Simon,

Nice looking bird. The fill-flash looks just right and the BG is a pleasing splash of soft color. I would selectively sharpen the bird some more. I don't think you need that much room on the top.

A very handsome bird. Perfect pose and lovely soft colors in the bg. Sharpness looks good on my monitor. I might crop a bit off the bottom.

What a wonderful looking bird, posing nicely parallel to the weathered perch that echoes the tone and texture of the upper half of the wren itself.

Great-looking bird. I agree regarding sharpening and would raise the color temperature a bit. It has a slight blueish cast on my monitor.

Thank you all for your comments. Here's a repost that corrects the blue cast (color balance -42 yellow) and extra selective sharpening applied to the bird (USM250/0.25/0).

The repost looks much better on my monitor!

I feel perhaps a version between the original and the repost? I kind of see the Aussie bush in that blueish cast of the original often enough. What a neat little bird. Just lose the second catchlight if you can. :)

Well done Simon.
