I like this, good seperation from the BG and it's an unusual (for me at least) in flight pose. Odd though, with the head being cocked back like that and the eveness of the light on the bird and the sharp edges... it almost looks embossed.

Hi Oz - lovely whites ad sharp details - would not expect any less with that lens, unless this is a large crop you must have been fairly close. Like the wings up pose - looks like his head is turned slightly away from you - theres a yellow flower on the riverbank I cant decide if I llike it there or not :)

Good job :)

Nice colorful BG, one strange cocked head, but I like it! Congrats

That is one funky head pose!! Really pretty image Oscar, super whites!

If it were mine I might be tempted to get rid of the orange blob around the beak..Picking nits here;)

Best you could do form your vantage point ..... and what was your vantage point here :) .. from our side or the side that had all the birds coming in :D:eek::)

Agree with others about the interesting features of this shot. One thing puzzles me. I'm seeing a blue/magenta cast, most noticeable in the shadow details under the wing. My monitor is calibrated, so I don't think that accounts for it. Are any others seeing this? Left is as posted; right is after a levels adjustment.

Absolutely David, now that you pointed it out it is pretty obvious.

Stupid question, how did you color correct with levels? I use levels but with only a very basic understanding.

At about where sample point 1 is, I set the white point using the white dropper in levels; I set that at 154.154.154 (just took the middle value of the three RGB values at that point). After that, I clicked with the gray dropper at 2 (used the default value, 128.128.128).
