This was taken right outside my front door during this past fall. The web was in very heavy shade even though it was pretty sunny........so I had to take special care and avoid all the BG highlights. Couldn't get the tripod to do this......so it was hand held.
Canon Mark3 with the Sigma 180mm macro and 20mm tube at f32 for 1/125 sec. at ISO 800 with the MT 24 twin lights at plus 1/3 power. Manually focused.
As always comments welcomed and appreciated.

Hi roman an interesting subject as behaviuor of insects. well done, good contrast, but at I see it'a 800 ISO, the resolution is not gorgeous.

You did a great job with focus here given you handheld at f/32 and with a tube. And the background looks really nice. I'm not in love with spiders as a subject but, that said, the image looks good to me, Roman.

Hey I was just looking at your tours. We're just going miss crossing paths in Maine. We are there the early part of the month returning on the 17th. You arrive on the 21st. We'll be in Acadia and also heading up to Cutler for a trip out to Puffin land.

It must be good - it's totally creeping me out.:D:eek:

I agree with Ed - handheld and with a tube and you're that steady? Sweet!

I really like the composition - nice angle to show off both the spider AND the prey.

Nice behavioral capture, Roman. I like the lighting, DOF, and comp. And hand-held too??!!!

Roman, this is the kind of work I would like to learn. Really impressive to me!
