Been away from photography visiting college buddies in Nashville. Came back and liked this one a little more than originally.

A shot from maybe a month ago. One of my favored spots, finally got a decent sky for it. Was tough processing that sky, and the weird bluer band in the sky is in the raw.

I like the "V" the palmettos form. As usual, good use of DOF and an interest FG pattern to draw the eye in to an equally interested BG and sky. Nice work.

Hey Paul,
As usual....you don't disappoint with the strong FG element...very nice with the palms. for me the brighter area of the sky on the right appears a bit funky....but I'm on the small laptop......so will check on the larger screen when I get a chance.
All in all.....nicely composed and the sky drama....puts it over the top.

Thanks guys, let me know what looks funky. That "window" is from a darker frame, so it was a tough blend.

Yep,...the break is the area I was talking about.......Imo worth a bit more effort in the blend.........cause then it will be perfect.

nice compo, paul. i agree with the above comments. how are you blending? multiple shots?

Harold I use grads but sometimes these skies just need more work. That window was so bright I went another stop or 2 down and blended in just that part from another exposure. I manually blend using masks, I may try some HDRs one day but for now my workflow has been working.
