Edinburgh Castle, Scotland pano

Edinburgh....one of my favorite places, and the castle dominates the city. This pano made from 5 shots. Light saturation added. EXif data not available but it was handheld (camera was sitting on a stone wall and I just shifted angle for each shot) and on automatic.

I know the view well but did not make a pano !!! Sure wish I had !!!

Would try posting at the max size, panos really need all the size we can give them to appreciate !!! ... was just thinking that might be one fine night location for a pano !!!

A fine job of stitching this pano for a great result.
I'm surprised that taken on automatic as always read that stitched panos are made with manual exposures for consistancy.
Will have to give it a try.

Nice pano Hazel, I tried it and you can have the widest pixel dimension at 1024 pixels. (your width in this case). See if you can post any larger. Small pic doesn't do it justice.

I moved it up to 1021x345 but it's not as sharp looking.

Better at a larger size Hazel. Are you shooting in jpeg or camera raw. I think you can get more out of this edit.

Here is my take although hopefully a more experienced PS editor can improve on it.
1. Resized to 800mm width.
2. Noiseware
3. Sharpened
4. Added Levels to darken slightly

Yes, I think the resizing helped tighten it. Liked the darkening, too. I'll play around with it. It was in jpeg, not raw. I'm just learning about raw usage and its benefits. Will be using it more in the future. From what I read, most photographers are using that because of the many possibilities of edits that jpeg doesn't have.

Difference will be night and day !!! btw if you have any jpeg images saved don't re save in jpeg use tiff !! Every time you save as jpeg lots of info will be lost. Might want to try an experiment, open a jpeg and then save as jpeg ... do over and over ten times. The last will be so degraded its trash !!!
