I always enjoy coming across Gopher Tortoise while exploring Florida. This individual didn't move as I approached, so I got down low and crawled close to his/her burrow. I had my camera jammed in the sand up as far as my arm would reach...making it awkward to change settings

Judd, this is just excellent...what a nice and refreshing image you've created here. I love the wide angle perspective which placed the tortoise in its environment. Well done! And I don't mind about the blown out skies...hard to avoid that. Congrats on this one!

Almost missed this one. An excellent environmental shot. The sky held up pretty well. Not sure from this size posting if the tortise had an eye shine but it would help if it did...
