Still way too many clouds for the month of February, but here is an image I made towards the end of January here in northern Utah.

Thanks,

Stunnnig popse, light, detail and color, great BG and comp, I would believe that in a larger size the eye would look much better! Congratulaitons!

Too bad that this small web size image doesn´t allow us to enjoy the details of this magnificent bird. It looks really a fantastic image John. I love the fanlike tail and the wing position. Composition works very fine IMO. Very good job!

Those juvies put on a better show than the adults last week. I enjoyed getting to meet you John. I like this photo a lot; great sharpness and detail in the darks. I would post a larger version (1024 pixels wide) for people to enjoy. I might try to bring out more detail in the eye. Did you buy the big lens yet?

Hi John: Very nice image of this juvie. I like the wing position, fanned tail and light on the bird. A touch of a dodge around the eye could bring out even more details. Great meeting you last week.

Keith

Great capture, I like the pose, exposure control and fanned tail. The clouds in the BG add to it. Is the blueish spot on the bird's left wing some kind of tag?

Wow of a pose, killer, John :) I may selective lighten the face, at least for this size jpeg. Well done!

Thanks for all the comments everyone... I've posted a larger version below if others are still curious to see this with a little more detail.

Doug & Keith... good to meet you guys while you were out here in Utah. Still no 500 f/4 in my arsenal (yet... lol). As the Magic 8 Ball says... I see it in my future.

Axel... that blue spot was actually a hole in the feathers. I've cloned it out on the repost.

Phil... no fill flash on this one.
