This is Miguel Guarino, one of the local rug artisan and merchant in the town of Oaxaca, Mexico. Miguel still makes these beautiful rugs by hand and sells them at the local Plaza on Saturdays...:cool:

Hi Gus...the rug looks beautiful. Have a question...is that the town that is famous for woodcarvings of animals etc? For a time I collected them and really enjoyed the art form..

They do wood carvings and allot of pottery, also work silver...:):cool:

Nice shot. I love Oaxaca. Too bad about all the political unrest. Did you make it to Teotitlan del Valle (rugs), SanMartin (wooden animals)?
