View Full Version : What Should I have Done to Improve This?

I created this image last summer along one of our local nature trails. I wanted to capture the beauty of the pollen falling in the early morning light.

One of my friends tapped the stem ("Hand of Man?:D) of the cattail to start the sequence. I liked the result but in a way the pollen is overpowering and the breeze left me with nothing to work with in a very short time.

What might I have done differently.

Hi Stephen - reminds me a bit of my image of the buffball expelling spores (see earlier post this section). You did everything right such as backlighting to emphasize the pollen but I think this is a case "where less is more"!
I feel a smaller, less dense cloud of pollen would have made more imapct here.

Hey Stephen, I think its a pretty cool shot. I agree with John that the less is more might have worked better, but I still think it's a cool image as is. Congrats.
