From a couple weeks ago on a cold winter day....hope that feeling comes through. I enjoy photographing these birds as they are so cooperative.

1/320, f6.3, ISO800
500mm f4, Canon 50D
Flash ETTL - 1/3

Looks like he's resting on a cold dreary day. I would be tempted to crop somewhat tighter, a little from the top and right. The bird is well posed and the detail in the feathers is excellent.

IF anything I would probably trim a little from the top, but no more. Even as is the image is fabulous and exposure spot on. :)

I will give you a vote for leaving the crop as it is, Grace! Very nice plumage detail - at the moment, in the UK, I know how he feels.

I think I would leave it as is, too. It was great meeting you and Ed last weekend!
