A fly-in by the papa at Wako this morning. This is full frame. I don't mind not having the legs at all, for three reasons:
- To me, this shot tells a story and provides some drama
- If I backed up any further, I would have fallen off the boardwalk and an alligator would have bitten me in the butt
- Whenever I switch from my 400 prime to my 75-300 to get more room on this nest, I miss a great flight shot

Great interaction and light. Your second reason made me laugh and is quite convincing. :) The whites are on the warmer side, but don't look overexposed. The details must look great at 100%.

Love the interaction in this Lance and I am glad you had not left. Well worth the run back. Beautiful capture in lovely warm lighting and I too like it as is . Would definitely hate to miss this story <smile >

Ahhh , my friend.... You were out early for this one and caught the height of interaction in gorgeous light!!! I agree the whites are not overexposed but the highlights could be pulled back just a notch. Awesome capture; and I hate you for being out there while I'm stuck inside at a desk!!!!

Excellent composition, Lance. The warm colors contribute to its emotionality. Nothing lost (and possibly something gained) by focusing on the action (without the full bodies).

Hi Lance,

I like the interaction here. I do wish to see the whole body. I know this location very well and with my 30D and 400mm f/5.6 I was able to get a whole body, unless this is at the entrance.
