Another shot of a Greenfinch in an aggressive pose trying to unsettle other birds at the feeders...

Techs 1/2000 @ F5 EC -1/3 ISO250 focus point / ring of fire.
1DMK11 N 500F4 Tripod + gimbal head

Thanks for looking

Tony, You have got to be kidding me. This is beyond stunning and as I recall you do this all on your own, no camera traps or triggers. The scream, the wing position, the feet, the ESP and SH, and the BKGR are all too, too good.

Never having seen a Greenfinch before, after seeing this image, I'm assuming they are really, really easy to photograph m(I'm kidding!)

The entire image looks great to me...perhaps just a smidge lighter around the eye on the head? (I'm really nitpicking with that).

Overall....quite jealous of this one.

Agree with Artie, the wing position and feet really make the shot, and what great focus and bg is something else.

Great pose, open beak and details. I might have gone for ISO 400 for higher shutter speed.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments..
Arthur, your memory serves you well, no triggers or IR systems used for this image and the B/G you like is a distant willow tree that's nearly lost alls it's leaves. The light bit's in the B/G are parts of the sky coming through.

Jim.... Lol... Truth is they are the easiest out of all the small birds to photograph, plus, this is taken around seed feeders which they tend to hover around trying to dislodge other birds which makes getting a shot a bit easier..

Axel, my camera isn't too good with noise so I try never to go above ISO250.. I've got a new 1DMK111 coming this week for that reason...

Thanks for your comments everyone, much appreciated.
Tony
