This is from my first outing with my newly acquired, used, Pentax 100mm f4 macro lens.
ISO 400, 1/45, exposure bias -0.50, aperture priority, spot metering, tripod, minimal retouching in iPhoto.
In the original I imported, more detail (veining) appears in the large, red leaf to the right than appears when I preview this posting.
Camera: PentaxK100D

Nice perspective of a poinsetta. They are difficult to develop a good angle on.

Hi Stuart...Interesting and creative composition. I cropped off about 40% of the right hand leaf and the image appeared alot stronger to me...

Agree that a crop on the right would help here but you really need to check your red channel - it's highly over saturated (most digital cameras do this every time.) Try taking the reds down a bit and see if you don't see some of the leaves details coming out more...
