Canon 5D
100 Macro
1/60 sec. at f/ 4.0
ISO 100
Tripod w/ timer
natural side light

I shot this w/ every aperature and liked this best, for me the f/22 was too crisp and it looked too crackly?:p

I like the background. Was the leaf above the back ground or laying on it??

f/22 to f/4.0 is a big drop!

Thanks for sharing.

Joseph, I taped the stem to my glass sliding door-the light seems to be nice and soft there.

I like it, Denise. Soft lighting is really working here. I do think there is too much OOF at the bottom - I'd cut it off where the green vein branches out and leave that bottom fourth on the cutting room floor.

Denise:

I like the composition, the angle of the leaf, the crop, the lighting, the BG. Great idea for shooting a leaf in winter.

Though I usually like soft focus, for this image I would like to see it all in sharp focus. It seems to be sharp 1//3 down from the top and to the left. If that area had some center of interest, then the soft focus elsewhere might work.
