Amazing action here. The environment is pretty good. I would add some more room at the sides if you have it.

Rod...I'm getting a kick out of this image. In my evaluation I'm looking at it less technically but more as an image with a very amusing and interesting story. I keep wondering if the turtle was pinned there or jumped off the rock after the image was taken.....

This is too funny. Makes you wonder what the turtle 'thinks'. :) It doesn't seem to be too bothered. As for the image, I would add a little space at the right side and blur the BG.

This is great but needs more room!

Very cool. I think there is a greeting card somewhere that needs this image. :) I would agree with Axel about blurring the background.

The truth is I was so close with my 500mm that I need to take two shots to make this one. One is the top half and the other is the bottom half. Thats why the sides are alittle tight. When its matted up for the show it will look pretty good I hope. I print them 11.5 X 16 and make the matts to fit. I never did like the 11X14 and the need to crop 2" off the photo. This is the side view. Thanks Rod

Too funny :D The second is realy clever  I'd like to know what the 2 turtles are saying ? ;)

Very nice capture of an "event". With the f4 lens you could have set wide open to better separate the subject from the BG. Otherwise as mentioned above, a blur applied to the BG would work. The head looks a little soft to me so some sharpening could be applied with benefit there.

John at that distance the difference between 7.1 and f4 is only 11" is would have helped a little but 7.1 is the sweet spot for that lens. Thanks Rod

It's so rare to see this happening. I particularly like the first post. Great job stitching the two images together. It must have happened at a park for you to get that close to the turtles without spooking them. Agree about adding a little canvas to the first post.

Good point Rod. I assume you mean 11" at your focusing distance (whatever that was).
