In response to comments recieved on my latest posts, I have redesigned my perch/blind/feeder setup. I got some very good results on the first day. I am still experimenting with various perches and fine tuning the entire setup but it has definately improved. Thank you to all who took time to post advice regarding perch setups.

Here is one of my first good images of an american tree sparrow.

The size of this perch is much better and I like the head angle, BG, details, soft light and relaxed pose and might crop a bit off the top.

Yes, the blind makes a big difference!

Really nice image. Agree with Axel about cropping some on top. Regards.

Joel, I'd also take some off the top and give it a bit of a contrast boost. :)

Love the bird and esp. the BKGR. I would crop from the top and the bottom. If you are getting all small birds go for a thinner perch branch.
