First morning light, peak number of birds, and some nice fog thrown in for effect all adds up to equal a brilliant fiery sunrise at the Bosque del Apache. A chance for me to take an image similar to Art's Fire in the Mist series. Just finished a workshop at the Bosque and chasing wild horses. More can be seen on my blog (http://www.davidcramer.com/blog/?cat=1).

The light in this picture is out of this world! Everything came together for you here. The edges look good. In a perfect world, I wish the flying crane's legs were not obscuring the bird's beak on the left side, and that the right two cranes in flight were separated. If this is the only picture of the series, I would try a version without the birds in flight. Stunning!!!

David.....

While there are a feew minor nits, the light with the fog is to die for and for me at least, completely overshadows the nits :)

A great image but I think it could be 'stronger' if you made the silhouettes a little more bold. Even just a levels adjustment on the geese would help, IMO

Special conditions can make compelling images at Bosque !!! Won't find these type often !! Just encountered on one trip in many years !!

I like the layered effect with the rows of birds, gives depth to the image !!! Got your settings right and came up with a good one !!!
