Taken at Arches Nat Park a few years ago.
I realise in this image the arch opening is a bit centered but I think it works in this case. This was taken in late afternoon. The photo is made up of 6 images vertically stitched together.

Nice work Dave, I cropped a little of the left to anchor the dead tree and like it better. Either way well done.

Hi Dennis...You are right...that will give you a whole different comp. I've also done it that way and like it as well....

Really nice Dave. I like the comp and the centered arch doesn't bother me. You have the biggest tree in a nice position and i like the emptiness that leads to the arch. The crop idea might make it a little stronger but it is also fine like this. You might have a merging artifact between the 4th and 5th finger from right where they are bunched together. There is a weird blue line.

Hi Paul...yes, I see the line...funny I never noticed it. Easily taken care of.

Dave,

Though this works well for the reasons mentioned, I find the left side too empty in the BG and like it better cropped at the start of the first left side rock face.

Hey Dave,
I see what the others are talking about but I am OK with it as presented. I probaly would have sacrificed a bit of the FG for more sky......as you know I love those clouds.....but as presented this is a very nice view of skyline arch and gives us a nice sense as if we were actually standing there. Nicely done!
