I like the lookback pose, snow and soft light. I find the crop a bit tight and might sharpen the bird more.

I might go with a horizontal crop here Chas. It'll give you more room in front of the bird. Agree with Axel about more sharpening.

I agree with Axel and Doug but I think that you can try a different croping (in the case that you have more room in the original file) placing the bird higher in the frame. :-)

Hey Chas,
Some good advice given above but will add.....if you do have the room.....work a few crops even with a rotation CW to try and change the angle and space issues (although I like them tight!)......either way....the snow and mood are outstanding and add greatly to the overall scene!

The best way to go with this one would have been a VERT capture with the bird at the top of the frame so as to include the entire spray of berries. And yes to selectively sharpening the head. Your post-processing techniques are getting better.
