These guys are one of the more numerous birds at Anhinga Trail right now. This is from a few weeks back. I was laying down on the boardwalk so concentrated I forgot the big gator was on the other side and realized I was dangling my foot about 1 1/2 feet from his mouth. =)

50d, 100-400@400 iso400 f5.6 1/320

I have to say the 50d does seem to capture detail very nicely. It is almost a downgrade from 20d for my landscape work but it seems it made my 100-400 sharper. =)

Hi Paul....Nice light and low angle with good eye contact. Backround is blurred sufficiently not to be distracting.

Good angle and head angle and I'm glad you still have both feet. :) I also like the composition and find the BG a bit busy.

Hey Paul,
Maybe a few more comments......or get your leg bitten off by the gator:p....just kidding.......I remember this......I think you did well with the BG blurring and I can vouch for you not being able to get any lower and for the dangling appetizer for the gator......I also like the DOF you chose......any more and the BG would become even more distracting......so overall....well done!
